The Assyrian Monitor For Human Rights got informed
that a fierce clashes have started in the Syrian city of Hassaka between ISIS
terrorists and Syrian army supported by government militias (Patriotic
Defense), Ba’ath Brigade, and
other governmental militias. Heavy weaponry have been used in addition to ISIS
sending suicide vehicles. Meanwhile, the government airforce was bombarding the
areas that ISIS took over and other areas which ISIS was able to
infiltrate."
Many reliable sources assured A Demand For Action
and the Assyrian Monitor For Human Rights that the Islamic State are controling
some of the neighborhoods in the city of Hassake which is the provincial
capital of the region. Many ethnicities live in this city. Arabs, Kurds, and
Assyrian/Syriac Christians.
The neighborhoods that were taken over by ISIS are
Nashwa Neighborhood, Shariah Neighborhood, and the Riadi Street. All of these
areas are located in the southwestern part of the city.
ISIS is trying to take over all the other remaining
neighborhoods. The Assyrian Monitor’s reporters informed us that hundreds of
families have fled to the city of Qamishli in the early morning hours of
Thursday June 25th, 2015. While many are trapped inside Hassake. It’s worth
mentioning that this attack is the forth of its kind in the last two months,
but his one is the strongest where ISIS was able to control many neighborhoods
in the city.
